Singers from the Norwich Barbershop Harmony Club have raised almost £3,000 to support people experiencing homelessness in Norfolk.

Each year, FCC and Mosaic choose a local charity to support. We selected Emmaus Norfolk & Waveney as our charity for 2025, and fundraised across the city throughout the year. More than half the cash was raised through our Golden Anniversary Concert at the Assembly House. There were also street performances and a pre-Christmas pub tour of the city by our Mustard quartet.

Treasurer Kim presents a whopping cheque to Cecile Roberts of Emmaus as the chorus smiles on

At this week's rehearsal, our Treasurer Kim presented a cheque for the total donation of £2,893.54 to Cecile Roberts, the charity's CEO.

Emmaus Norfolk & Waveney is a local homelessness charity providing a safe home, meaningful work, training and bespoke holistic support for people who have experienced homelessness, trauma and mental health issues. Its transformational community in Ditchingham supports up to 50 people to rebuild their lives and create brighter futures.

Cecile said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed this partnership with Fine City Chorus. They have been incredibly generous, not only with their fundraising, but also with their genuine interest in our charity and the people we support. This donation will help us develop a new project on our site to prepare people to move on from Emmaus, equipping them with skills in budgeting, tenancy sustainment, and other practical steps to help them successfully move intowork, independent accommodation, or further training.

The partnership was strengthened through FCC performances at several Emmaus events, as well as Emmaus residents sharing their stories and experiences at choir events.

Bob, Chair of FCC, said: “This is the biggest single sum we’ve ever raised for a local charity, and our singers have really enjoyed partnering with Emmaus. We’ve seen the great work they do, and that’s really motivated us. Our audiences have been very generous too.
